Kermit C. White is a founding partner of PRINCIPLE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT, LLC and brings more than a decade of architectural experience to the firm. Kermit C. White is a professional architect with over ten years of cumulative architectural design and construction management experience of public facilities, commercial projects, schools, financial institutions and residential projects. Representative projects include historic renovations, new construction, space planning, site master planning, construction documents, project management and construction administration.
Riverside Landing, Ft. Myers, FL. Project Architect for new eight-story riverfront condominium. Project consisted of 26 condominium units over covered parking. The design also includes amenity package with pool and waterfront Tiki Bar. Estimated project budget is $10.5M. Construction to begin Fourth Quarter 2005.
Magnolia Place, Sebring, FL. Project Architect and master planner for a new 12 acre development consisting of Cottage homes, Town homes, and high-rise condominiums. The architectural style is a New England Beach home. The development was designed to encourage a user friendly pedestrian neighborhood with a central promenade with front porches and brick paver walkways. The town homes are of similar style and oriented to take advantage of the Gold Course views. The last phase of the project consists of a seven story condominium anchor the end of the development with views of the golf course and the promenade.
Abidjan Estates, Belle Glade, FL. Project Architect for planned unit development of 70 acre residential and mixed use. Project consists of 220 single family residences, 196 rental units, 20,000 s.f. commercial building, and six-screen Movie Theater. Project also consists of 12,000 s.f. community center and recreational park. The estimated construction budget is $70M. Construction Phase I to begin First Quarter 2005.
Cypress Lakes Community Development, Ft. Myers, FL. Project Architect for 20 acre planned unit development. The development to include 85 two-story town home units and 135 eight-unit "flat over flat" design. Project also includes 4,500 s.f. Clubhouse and pool area.
Lake Worth Town Homes, Lake Worth, FL. Project Architect for two-unit two-story multifamily development in Downtown Lake Worth. Estimated construction budget is $1.8M. Construction to begin Third Quarter 2005.
Cape Coral Planned Unit Development, Cape Coral, FL. Project Architect for new 25 acre, 200 unit multi-family development. Project consists of two-story eight-unit buildings totaling 150 units. Project also includes 5,000 s.f. Clubhouse, Tiki Bar, Pool and Patio.
The Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect responsible for developing a 20,000 s.f. world class clubhouse, entry gate, outdoor terrace and dining area with fountain and elaborate gardens. The clubhouse included men and women locker rooms, massage rooms, steam rooms, gallery space, kitchen with main dining room for 300 people, and a 19th hole grill room and kitchen.
Palm Beach International Polo Club, Wellington, FL. Consultant Architect working on a new polo club facility in Wellington, Florida. The project included the design and construction of viewing grandstands with private boxes and covered terrace area, the design of a swimming pool with a pool house which incorporated a locker room, weight room, yoga room and massage rooms, a 5-star restaurant with dining for 150 people situated next to the pool, the project included planning for a second phase of the facility to include the playing fields, future clubhouse and spa buildings.
Lands of the President Golf Club, West Palm Beach, FL. Project architect for the complete interior redesign of a 60,000 sf clubhouse built in multiple phases over the last 30 years. The primary goal of the project was to integrate all the functions of the facility including dining, golf, catering, Fitness, and social membership. The scope of work includes a new grill room and daily dining for over 100 people. The locker rooms were designed to handle the growing membership with over 800 lockers. The project budget is $ 3.5M and will be completed in the spring of 2006
America Orchid Society, Boca Raton, FL. Intern Architect working on the design and construction of a new 30,000 s.f. national headquarters complex with administrative offices and display areas including a visitors' center for the American Orchid Society. The design included the master plan of the site to include a future library building, green houses, elaborate gardens and boardwalk.
The Mar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect working on various renovation projects on the old Emily Post residence built in the late 1800's in Palm Beach, FL. The facility was converted to a new private social club. Projects included a new commercial kitchen and the restoration of the existing caretakers' building into cottages. The project also included the design and construction of a new tennis facility within the context of an existing historical site.
Green Cay Nature Center, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect working on the project which consisted of creating a new 90 acre wetland area to be used by Palm Beach County Water Utilities as an environmentally friendly means to treat reclaim water and discharge back into the SFWD canal system. The project incorporated several hundred yards of elevated walkway through the wetland preserve with a 15,000 s.f. interpretive nature center with educational interactive displays, a Nature store, offices, snack bar and restroom facilities.
Park & Recreation Facility for the Army Core of Engineers, Puerto Rico. Intern Architect working on the project which consisted of a new park and recreation facility including cabins, RV camping, Tent camping, and wilderness camping areas. The facilities included several shower and toilet facilities and also included many different styles and sizes of pavilions.
The Monkey Bar, West Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect responsible for the construction documents to convert an abandoned building in Downtown West Palm Beach into a new high tech dance club with 4 separate liquor bars, lagoon dance floor, pool table area and a new building faƧade with the Downtown master plan. The overall project budget was $2M.
Leila Restaurant, West Palm Beach, FL. Project architect for converting the historic 100 year old original City Fire Hall in Downtown West Palm Beach into an intimate, Middle Eastern, 50-seat restaurant with an outdoor seating and bar area, a full service kitchen with storage and restrooms. The overall project budget was $800,000 with a completion date of June 2004.
Government Projects Northern Regional Operations Center, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect responsible for the overall design and construction documents for a new regional Headquarters for Palm Beach County Water Utilities. The design included a complex of 10 buildings over 100,000 s.f. including shop buildings, warehouses, fuel facility and operations buildings. The primary building was a 30,000 s.f. office building serving as the new headquarters for the Director of Water Facilities including customer service, administration and engineering departments. The total project budget was $24M with a completion date First Quarter 2002.
Northwood Community Center, West Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect for a new boys and girls club facility for the City of West Palm Beach. The project included the complete interior and exterior renovation of the existing 6,000 s.f. building, the design of a new 7,000 s.f. addition, renovation of a 1,500 s.f. historical house which included the addition of 2,500 s.f. for use as a new day care facility, and the design of a new 2,500 s.f. welcome center. The overall project budget was $3.2M.
Northwood Community Center Gymnasium & Streetscape, West Palm Beach, FL. As the second phase of the Northwood Community Center Campus, the emphasis on design was to develop a sense of community and pride in the local historic neighborhood. The project included a regulation size gymnasium with facilities for basketball and volleyball, a snack bar area and outdoor interactive fountain. A reconfiguration of the streetscape to eliminate pedestrian traffic in the right of way, by using the latest concepts in traffic calming and reverse parking, were incorporated into the project. The overall project budget was $3.4M and construction commenced in June 2004.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Substation, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect for a new regional office for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department. The project included a 14,000 s.f. office building with Fuel Facility which included master planning the site for future expansion of the substation and the addition of a future county office building. The overall project budget was $1.4M with a completion date of First Quarter 2002.
Fire Station #18, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect for a new fire station for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The project, located on the grounds of an historic museum, was designed to blend into the site. The project included an apparatus bay, sleeping quarters and general offices. The project budget was $1.5M with completion date of First Quarter 2002.
Fire Station #56, Palm Beach, FL. Intern Architect for a new Fire Station for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The project included an apparatus bay, sleeping quarters and general offices. The project budget was $15.M with a completion date of First Quarter 2002.
The Imperial Hotel, West Palm Beach, FL. Project architect for a new 20 story luxury condo hotel in downtown West Palm Beach. The project includes site planning and master plan for the new 400,000 sf facility. The project includes a fine dining restaurant and cocktail lounge, A state of the art spa and the highest roof top pool in the county. The hotel will consist of 150 luxury suites with large master bedroom suites and full kitchens. The scope of work includes complete construction documents, interior design, and construction management.. The budget for the project in $80M and is schedule to begin construction in the first quarter of 2006.
The "James Bond" High Rise Condominium, West Palm Beach, FL. Project architect for a new 20 story state of the art high rise condominium. This exclusive facility has one residence per floor. Each suite is over 6,000 sf, with floor to ceiling glass with a master bedroom mezzanine. The project has a state of the art parking lift system that allows the owner to park on there own floor and walk directly into their unit. Each suite has its own private swimming pool with a retractable floor system and is loaded with other high tech amenities like a hidden wet bar, and Plasma TV that raise from the floor, leading to the nick name for the building "The James Bond Tower"
Addison Place Shopping Center, Boca Raton, FL. Intern Architect for a new "Trendy" commercial center built in two phases with over 50,000 sf of commercial space including a branch bank and a high end restaurant as an anchor tenant.
Republic Security Bank, FL. Project coordinator for Republic security Bank responsible for the design and construction of over 10 branch banks throughout the South Florida area. Responsible for the renovation of dozens of branch banks including the new corporate offices for the bank in 2001 which was the renovation of a 7 story, 50,000 s.f. office tower.
Fidelity Federal Bank. Complete architectural and interior design for two new branch banks, approximately 3,500 s.f. each. Each branch has teller lines, drive through, ATM and offices with lobby and customer service facilities.
